Prompter brings speech recognition and thoughtful reading controls together in a focused presentation tool.
The problem
The script should follow the speaker.
Presenters need to keep their place without letting a scrolling script dictate their delivery. A pause, a change in pace or a manual adjustment should not become a distraction.
Prompter is a browser teleprompter with voice following, a microphone-free demo reader and mirrored display.
My contribution
Refining the moment-to-moment experience.
I developed the app and refined its reading behaviour: keeping the eyeline steady, preserving punctuation and allowing manual repositioning without fighting the scroll.
The design puts control back with the presenter. The demo reader also makes the interface explorable before connecting a microphone or a speech-recognition service.
System & dependencies
Speech recognition meets an interface.
Voice following uses Speechmatics speech recognition and requires microphone access and a service connection. The microphone-free demo is a separate way to explore the reading behaviour.
Voice performance depends on the device and connection. For a business presentation workflow, microphone handling, service access and the suitability of scripts for external processing need to be checked in that environment.
Evidence & status
Try the reading experience.
The public demo runs a sample script without microphone access. It lets you explore the reading experience before setting up voice following.
The demo reader has been checked. Live microphone recognition, voice accuracy and device compatibility still need separate testing.
